D.I.S.C.O. Celebrates with the Cover Band Abenteuerland

Frantic applause and calls for an encore: On Thursday evening, 430 guests celebrated the performance by the Pur cover band “Abenteuerland” at the D.I.S.C.O. party at the CD-Kaserne.

NEUENHÄUSEN. Party hits like “Hör gut zu,” “Freunde,” and “Lena” went over very well with both people with and without disabilities. The mood among the partygoers was excellent: You could see how much fun everyone was having dancing. Lighters were a must during the cover band’s 40-minute set. Several people in wheelchairs also enjoyed the accessible dance party, moving easily through the crowd thanks to everyone’s consideration.

Whether it was “Wenn du da bist” or “Abenteuerland”—the audience knew the lyrics by heart and enthusiastically swayed their arms along to the music. After “Lena” as an encore, the audience didn’t want to let the band leave the stage at all.

DJ Stefan kept the party atmosphere at a fever pitch before and after the concert with a colorful mix of Schlager, chart hits, and disco songs.

“I come to the D.I.S.C.O. party series quite often,” said Rolf Ödecke from Celle. The 53-year-old particularly highlighted the music and the “great people.” “It’s easy to stay out late here,” said Juliane Berner, who is also a regular at D.I.S.C.O.

What Thorsten Achilles likes most about the concept behind the party series is that “people with and without disabilities party together.” The 41-year-old finds this unifying element “beautiful and important.” After all, D.I.S.C.O. is all about the sense of community among the guests. “That’s something that’s very close to my heart,” he says.

The next D.I.S.C.O. party is on June 16. It starts at 6 p.m.

Adventure Land: The Pur cover band will perform again at the CD-Kaserne toward the end of the year. The exact date of the concert has not yet been set.
