Live music is finally back: The band Shiver delights Coldplay fans
Plettenberg. Live music at last! Despite the persistent drizzle, a good 70 music fans didn’t want to miss out on this treat on Thursday evening (July 8) on the town hall plaza. And the Coldplay tribute band Shiver was bursting with enthusiasm—after all, it was their first gig after the long, forced hiatus due to the pandemic.
Coldplay is one of the world’s most successful bands of the 2000s. The professional musicians of Shiver perform covers from the extensive repertoire of the band led by frontman Chris Martin. This also means that singer, keyboardist, and guitarist Sven speaks to the audience exclusively in English. The Plettenberg crowd enthusiastically celebrated songs like “Clocks,” “Viva la Vida,” and the latest hit, “Higher Power.” Despite the socially distanced, checkerboard-style seating on the town hall forecourt—arranged to comply with COVID-19 guidelines—the atmosphere was lively.
