In cool weather, crowds are drawn to Adventureland

Oelde (kme). Despite the drop in temperatures, 300 German rock fans—bundled up warm—enjoyed the second Oelde Cover Night of the summer at Vier-Jahreszeiten-Park on Saturday evening. Under the motto “Made in Germany,” the Pur cover band “Abenteuerland” and the group “Pfefferminz—A Tribute to M. M. Westernhagen” took the stage at the Sparkassen-Waldbühne, offering top-notch music and heartwarming entertainment to ward off the autumn chill. “Fans of this music are in for a great evening today,” Wolfgang Rettig, the Forum Oelde staff member in charge, had predicted at the start of the four-hour Cover Night. “Unfortunately, today’s weather isn’t ideal for an open-air event,” Rettig added. Despite the less-than-ideal weather conditions, the two German rock cover bands put on an outstanding show that invited the audience to sing along and dance, rewarding them for coming. The band “Abenteuerland” from Braunschweig kicked things off. With well-known Pur hits like “Versunken” and “Indianer,” the five musicians transported the audience to a land of adventure filled with rhythmic sounds and poetic lyrics. Charismatic and clearly enjoying their music, the band sought to connect with the audience. Singer Carsten Siebert eventually sang “Funkelperlenaugen” arm in arm with female fans who had traveled from Sassenberg.
