Rockpolice – The Police Tribute Band

This is Rockpolice the Police Tribute Band

Essen/Grugahalle: The night from October 18 to 19, 1980, the 7th WDR Rockpalast night. For the still relatively unknown musicians Stewart Copeland, Andy Summers and Sting – better known as “THE POLICE ” – the starting signal for a global career. After the band had already had some success in the USA and England with the then current single “Roxanne”, they were still the insider tip of a small but constantly growing “New Wave” community in Germany and the rest of Europe. This legendary concert, however, changed everything.
8000 fans in the Grugahalle in Essen and millions of people watching on their screens celebrated a unique concert with the band. “It’́s unbelievable”, Sting mumbled to himself in the backstage area of the hall for a long time afterwards. He later said: “That was the most important and best concert the band has ever given!”.
As the WDR Rocknächte were Eurovision broadcasts and aired throughout Europe, they brought the band an enormous audience that seems almost absurd from today’s perspective. THE POLICE” became superstars overnight. The trio’s inimitable, crisp sound immediately burned itself into the ear canals of an entire generation. Hits such as “So Lonely”, “Roxanne”, “Message in a bottle”, “Don’t stand so close to me” and “Walking on the moon” are still electrifying today – just as they were back then.
Rockpolice take this incredible original from 1980 and bring the legendary THE POLICE Rockpalast concert back to the stage – with the original trio line-up, of course. In the original sound, Rockpolice take us back to 1980 and let us relive the night of nights!

Line Up

BASS, LEAD VOC – ANDREW GRÄSER

….The proximity to “Sting ́s” voice is astounding!
The Police fan has taken on the role of the bass-playing singer and (like the original) also operates the Moog Taurus pedal synthesizer with his feet. As a singer and guitarist, Andrew has worked with many artists on numerous tours and studio sessions, including Harold Faltermaier / Howard Carpendale / Heinz Rudolph Kunze / Errorhead / Dieter Bohlen.
DRUMS, VOC – WOLF SIMON
The drummer from Essen stood in front of the stage of the Grugahalle in 1980 when Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers wowed the world on Rockpalastnacht. A lasting impression for the young musician, who went on to become one of Germany’s most successful drummers himself.
Many years later, the circle is now complete – after countless tours, concerts and album productions with artists such as Klaus Lage, Udo Lindenberg, Tic Tac Toe, T.M. Stevens, Doro Pesch, Guildo Horn, Axxis, Howard Carpendale, Jennifer Rush, Bobby Kimball, Wolfgang Petry and many others, the new mission is called: Rockpolice

GUITAR , VOC – CHRIS LINDNER

Chris is the reincarnation of Andy Summers! The Cologne guitar racer puts a lot of emphasis on the fact that he uses many of Summers’ original guitar effects. You can hear that … the typical Police guitar sound is unique and fills the room completely! His unique guitar playing, in the studio and on stage, can be found on numerous national and international tours and productions. Such as: Andy Fraser (Free) / Michael Bolton / Marla Glenn / Marianne Rosenberg / Mirja Boes / Starlight Express / Rocky Horror Europ Tour
