Rockpolice – The Police Tribute Band

Rockpolice - The Police Tribute Band 1
ROCKPOLICE is the tribute band that brings the unmistakable sound of The Police to the stage with a precision, energy, and authenticity that few other acts can match. Their concept is unique: The band faithfully recreates the legendary Rockpalast concert from October 18–19, 1980, at the Grugahalle in Essen—the concert that marked the definitive breakthrough in Europe for Sting, Stewart Copeland, and Andy Summers and turned The Police into superstars overnight.
When the band—still largely unknown at the time—performed at the 7th WDR Rockpalast Night in 1980, no one could have imagined that this performance would make music history. Although The Police had already achieved their first chart successes abroad with “Roxanne” and “So Lonely,” in Germany and many parts of Europe they were still considered an insider’s tip on the new wave scene. But this concert changed everything: 8,000 fans at the Grugahalle and millions of television viewers across Europe witnessed a show that Sting later described as “the most important and best concert the band ever played.”
ROCKPOLICE brings this very historic moment back to today’s live stages—with an impressive attention to detail, the original trio lineup, and the distinctive sound of the famous original. The characteristic blend of reggae, punk, new wave, and British rock is performed with a precision that thrills both longtime Police fans and new audiences alike.
The tribute band not only captures the musical DNA of The Police, but also recreates the entire Rockpalast experience from 1980: the raw, crisp sound, the explosive energy of a young Sting, the rhythmic complexity of Stewart Copeland, and the unmistakable guitar riffs of Andy Summers. ROCKPOLICE recreates that night’s landmark performance so authentically that you feel as though you’re taking a trip back in time to the early ’80s.
Of course, the biggest hits can’t be left out:
“Roxanne”
“So Lonely”
“Message In a Bottle”
“Walking on the Moon”
“Don’t Stand So Close to Me”
and many more classics that continue to shape radio playlists and live shows around the world to this day.
At ROCKPOLICE, musical authenticity takes center stage. The band deliberately avoids modern effects or overproduced sounds, instead consistently drawing inspiration from the minimalist yet powerful sound of The Police’s early era. The result is a live experience that feels raw, dynamic, and driving—just as The Police themselves presented it to an audience of millions in 1980.
Whether it’s a city festival, a music festival, an open-air concert, a club show, or a corporate event —ROCKPOLICE is the ideal choice for event organizers looking for an authentic tribute show with instant recognition. The show not only appeals to die-hard fans but also thrills younger generations who may only know The Police from classic rock radio or streaming services but want to experience the energy of the songs live.
With ROCKPOLICE, the magic of one of the most iconic live moments in rock history returns to the stage. The band delivers a tribute show that captivates, electrifies, and deeply moves the audience—a musical tribute to a band whose sound shaped an entire generation.

Line up

BASS, LEAD VOCALS – ANDREW GRÄSER

…the resemblance to “Sting’s” voice is astonishing!
The Police Fan has really gotten into the role of the bass-playing singer and, like the original, also uses his feet to play the Moog Taurus pedal synthesizer. As a singer and guitarist, Andrew collaborates with many artists on numerous tours and studio sessions, including Harold Faltermaier, Howard Carpendale, Heinz Rudolph Kunze, Errorhead, and Dieter Bohlen.
DRUMS, VOCALS – WOLF SIMON
The drummer from Essen was standing in front of the stage at the Grugahalle in 1980 when Sting, Stewart Copeland, and Andy Summers wowed the world during the Rockpalastnacht. It made a lasting impression on the young musician, who went on to become one of Germany’s most successful drummers himself.
Many years later, the circle is now complete—after countless tours, concerts, and album productions with artists such as Klaus Lage, Udo Lindenberg, Tic Tac Toe, T.M. Stevens, Doro Pesch, Guildo Horn, Axxis, Howard Carpendale, Jennifer Rush, Bobby Kimball, Wolfgang Petry, and many others, the new mission is: Rockpolice

GUITAR, VOCALS – CHRIS LINDNER

Chris is practically the reincarnation of Andy Summers! The guitar-loving guy from Cologne takes great pride in the fact that he uses many of Summers’ original guitar effects. You can really hear it… the classic Police guitar sound is one-of-a-kind and fills the entire room!! His unique guitar playing, both in the studio and on stage, can be heard on numerous national and international tours and productions. These include: Andy Fraser (Free) / Michael Bolton / Marla Glenn / Marianne Rosenberg / Mirja Boes / Starlight Express / Rocky Horror European Tour
