Frenetic applause and calls for an encore: 430 guests celebrated the performance of the Pur cover band "Abenteuerland" at the D.I.S.C.O. party in the CD-Kaserne on Thursday evening.
NEUENHÄUSEN. Party hits such as "Hör gut zu," "Freunde," and "Lena" were very well received by people with and without disabilities. The mood among the partygoers was excellent: every guest clearly enjoyed dancing. Lighters were a must during the cover band's 40-minute performance. Several people in wheelchairs also enjoyed the barrier-free dance party, moving easily through the crowd thanks to mutual consideration.
Whether it was "Wenn du da bist" or "Abenteuerland," the audience knew all the lyrics and enthusiastically waved their arms along. After "Lena" as an encore, the audience didn't want to let the band leave the stage.
DJ Stefan ensured that the party atmosphere remained at fever pitch before and after the concert with a colorful mix of pop songs, chart hits, and disco tunes.
"I'm a regular at the D.I.S.C.O. party series," said Rolf Ödecke from Celle. The 53-year-old particularly highlighted the music and the "great people." "It can easily get late," said Juliane Berner, who is also a regular D.I.S.C.O. guest.
What Thorsten Achilles likes most about the concept behind the party series is that "disabled and non-disabled people celebrate together." The 41-year-old considers this unifying element to be "beautiful and important." After all, D.I.S.C.O. is all about visitors coming together. "That's something that's very close to my heart," he says.
The next D.I.S.C.O. party will take place on June 16. It starts at 6 p.m.
Abenteuerland: The Pur cover band will perform again at the CD Kaserne toward the end of the year. The exact date of the concert has not yet been set.
