Rockpolice – The Police Tribute Band

Rockpolice - The Police Tribute Band 1
ROCKPOLICE is the tribute band that brings the unmistakable sound of The Police to the stage with a precision, energy, and authenticity that few other acts can match. Their concept is unique: the band faithfully recreates the legendary Rockpalast concert of October 18/19, 1980, at the Grugahalle in Essen—the concert that marked the definitive breakthrough in Europe for Sting, Stewart Copeland, and Andy Summers and made The Police superstars overnight.
When the still largely unknown band played at the 7th WDR Rockpalast Nacht in 1980, no one could have guessed that this performance would make music history. Although The Police had already achieved their first chart successes abroad with "Roxanne" and "So Lonely," in Germany and many parts of Europe they were still considered an insider tip on the new wave scene. But this concert changed everything: 8,000 fans in the Grugahalle and millions of television viewers across Europe witnessed a show that Sting later described as "the most important and best concert the band ever played."
ROCKPOLICE brings this historic moment back to today's live stages—with impressive attention to detail, the original trio lineup, and the distinctive sound of the famous original. The characteristic mix of reggae, punk, new wave, and British rock is performed with a precision that thrills both longtime Police fans and new audiences alike.
The tribute band not only captures the musical DNA of The Police, but also reconstructs the entire Rockpalast experience of 1980: the raw, crisp sound, the explosive energy of a young Sting, the rhythmic complexity of Stewart Copeland, and the unmistakable guitar structures of Andy Summers. ROCKPOLICE recreate the milestone of that night so authentically that you feel like you're traveling back in time to the early 80s.
Of course, the greatest hits are also included:
"Roxanne"
"So Lonely"
"Message In a Bottle"
"Walking on the Moon"
"Don't Stand So Close to Me"
and many other classics that still dominate radio stations, playlists, and live shows around the world today.
ROCKPOLICE focuses on musical authenticity. The band deliberately avoids modern effects or overproduced sound, instead consistently orienting itself toward the minimalist yet powerful sound of the early Police era. The result is a live experience that is pure, dynamic, and driving—just as The Police themselves presented it to millions of fans in 1980.
Whether it's a city festival, open-air event, club or corporate event – ROCKPOLICE is the ideal choice for organizers looking for an authentic tribute program with recognition value. The show not only appeals to die-hard fans, but also inspires younger generations who may only know The Police from classic radio or streaming, but want to experience the energy of the songs live.
ROCKPOLICE brings the magic of one of the most significant live moments in rock history back to the stage. The band delivers a tribute show that captivates, electrifies, and deeply moves the audience—a musical monument to a band whose sound shaped an entire generation.
ROCKPOLICE – The Police Tribute Band.

Lineup

BASS, LEAD VOCALS – ANDREW GRÄSER

...the similarity to Sting's voice is astonishing!
The Police fan has immersed himself in the role of bass-playing singer and (like the original) also operates the Moog Taurus pedal synthesizer with his feet. As a singer and guitarist, Andrew works with many artists on numerous tours and studio sessions, including Harold Faltermaier, Howard Carpendale, Heinz Rudolph Kunze, Errorhead, and Dieter Bohlen.
DRUMS, VOCALS – WOLF SIMON
The drummer from Essen stood in front of the stage at the Grugahalle in 1980 when Sting, Stewart Copeland, and Andy Summers thrilled the world during Rockpalastnacht. It was a lasting impression for the young musician, who went on to become one of Germany's most successful drummers himself.
Many years later, the circle is now complete – after countless tours, concerts, and album productions with artists such as Klaus Lage, Udo Lindenberg, Tic Tac Toe, T.M. Stevens, Doro Pesch, Guildo Horn, Axxis, Howard Carpendale, Jennifer Rush, Bobby Kimball, Wolfgang Petry, and many others, the new mission is called Rockpolice .

GUITAR, VOCALS – CHRIS LINDNER

Chris is basically the reincarnation of Andy Summers! The Cologne-based guitar nerd attaches great importance to the fact that he uses many of Summers' original guitar effects. You can hear it... the typical Police guitar sound is unique and fills the entire room! His unique guitar playing, both in the studio and on stage, can be found on numerous national and international tours and productions. These include: Andy Fraser (Free), Michael Bolton, Marla Glenn, Marianne Rosenberg, Mirja Boes, Starlight Express, and the Rocky Horror European Tour.
