Here is a live video of the Coldplay tribute band Shiver live from the Groove Bar in Cologne: the wonderful "Viva la Vida," which was the last song in the regular set.
What's special about this video is that it also gives you a little tour of the Groove Bar, as frontman Sven couldn't resist walking through the audience to the sound booth and bar to high-five people. If you were there, maybe you'll spot yourself.

An estimated 600 million people watched Neil Armstrong's first steps on the moon live on television in 1969. A musical program at the Staatstheater Braunschweig, created by Armstrong's closest relatives, commemorated this moving piece of space history.

David Bowie's song "Space Oddity" is a classic of space rock and was released a few days before the launch of the Apollo moon mission, which took the three astronauts Buzz Aldrin, Michael Collins, and Neil Armstrong to the moon in 1969. In the summer of that year, Bowie struck a chord with the spirit of the times.

Space songs and anecdotes
The person singing the global hit on stage at the Staatstheater Braunschweig is Neil Armstrong's son Mark, in a duet with his daughter Kali. Together with their "Mission Control Band" and musicians from the state orchestra, they present Armstrong's space songs, interspersed with anecdotes:
Mark Armstrong recounts that when he was six years old, his father called him and his brother into the dining room: "My father told us that he, Mr. Collins, and Mr. Aldrin would attempt to land on the moon. He explained that the chances of success were only 50 percent, but that he had complete confidence in the spacecraft and NASA. I remember how calm and composed he seemed—and completely convinced that he would return home."
Music celebrates the magic of space travel
Pink Floyd's "Learning to Fly," "Walking on the Moon" by The Police, or Bart Howard's "Fly Me to the Moon"—with their concert, the Armstrongs want to celebrate the magic of space travel. It has accompanied and shaped him throughout his life, the 60-year-old reports in an interview before the concert: "Space travel was the dominant theme of my childhood and beyond. I see myself as a kind of ambassador for space travel and its achievements. Not in any official capacity, but simply as a human being. And I believe my father would be proud of that."
Biographical evening with music, photos, and films
The biographical and historical evening is interspersed with photos from the Armstrong family album and impressive film footage: The fire-breathing Saturn rocket majestically lifting off from the spaceport, shaky black-and-white footage of Neil Armstrong shaving in the space capsule, flyovers of the moon—and the small, fragile-looking globe of Earth in the midst of the blackness of space.

This is Rockpolice
Essen/Grugahalle: The night of October 18-19, 1980, the 7th WDR Rockpalast Night. For the still relatively unknown musicians Stewart Copeland, Andy Summers, and Sting—better known as "THE POLICE"—it was the starting signal for a global career. After the band had already enjoyed some success in the US and England with their then-current single "Roxanne," they were still an insider tip among a small but steadily growing "new wave" community in Germany and the rest of Europe. However, this legendary concert changed everything.

8,000 fans in Essen's Grugahalle and millions of people watching on TV celebrated a unique concert with the band. "It's unbelievable," Sting muttered to himself long afterwards in the backstage area of the hall. Later he said: "That was the most important and at the same time best concert the band has ever given!"

Since the WDR Rock Nights were Eurovision broadcasts and were aired throughout Europe, they brought the band an enormous audience, which seems almost absurd from today's perspective. Overnight, "THE POLICE" became superstars. The trio's inimitable, crisp sound immediately burned itself into the ears of an entire generation. Hits such as "So Lonely," "Roxanne," "Message in a Bottle," "Don't Stand So Close to Me," and "Walking on the Moon" still electrify today—just as they did back then.

"You close your eyes and you're sure: that MUST be Udo Lindenberg singing there": That was the reaction of one Udo fan after a concert by "Der Udonaut & die Paniker." And Lindenberg pianist Jean-Jacques Kravetz said that vocally, it could also be the real Udo swinging the microphone, and "the band has what it takes to become the new Panikorchester."
